Hi, I'm Daisy Williams! I am currently a sophomore attending UC Davis. I am majoring in Design and possibly doubling in Environmental Science and Management. I choose to pursue Design because it is the perfect intersection between art and communication. I admire the careful thought and nuanced detail that goes into professional designs, such as logos, urban planning, and packaging. I am also pursuing ESM because I want the skills and knowledge to properly navigate our rapidly changing world.
I hope that after I graduate I can become a designer who specializes in corporate animations, branding, and logos. I would also like to use my scientific knowledge to make infographics and visual displays for museums and environmental organizations.
I have very little repair experience because I have very little incentive to repair. Wearing worn out clothes doesn't bother me too much, electronics are way over my head, and most importantly, I have the privilege of just buying what I need. I hope that making a Repair Guide for iFixit introduces me to a more sustainable and self-sufficient way of life. (Not to scare anyone, but our world has a finite amount of resources, so learning to reuse and repair now will be invaluable later on.)
