ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Daniela Gomez Delgado and I’m a senior at Cal State Bakersfield. I am a Psychology major working on my bachelor's, looking to be a school psychologist! I currently have my Associate's in Psychology and Sociology.

I aspire to become a school psychologist because my own experiences growing up have highlighted the critical need for a supportive and empathetic figure within the educational system. Throughout my childhood, academic counselors were presented as the go-to individuals for addressing our concerns, but it often felt like they didn't genuinely care. They seemed biased, focusing their efforts on those they perceived as "having potential" rather than those who were clearly struggling and in need of help. This disparity in support left a significant impact on me, motivating me to become someone students can turn to for assistance, regardless of their background or challenges. I hope that through my future endeavors, I can inspire others to follow a similar path and contribute to a more inclusive and caring educational environment.

PROJECTS

Something similar to a project, I would make TikTok videos about the K-pop photocard collecting and trading community. There is a huge community of K-pop photocard collecting, and I would make tutorials on how to make small collect books with items you have at home. These binders are for storage and aesthetic purposes for photocards!

REPAIR EXPERIENCES

I have helped restore an old building into becoming an event hall. I was part of the process of screwing doors into frames, patching holes in walls, and building the base of a staircase. This was the closest I had to building and getting hands-on.

INTERESTS & HOBBIES

My hobbies consist of collecting albums from my favorite artists and attending concerts! I love playing and listening to music, it's a way I can relax and find my peace. My main interest revolves around K-Pop, which I've been listening to for many years.

Spanish is my native language, and I learned how to speak English when I was in the 3rd grade. Recently, I’ve started trying to teach myself Korean, which has been a fun experience because I consume a lot of Korean media. When I watch K-Dramas I'm finally able to understand most of it without captions!
