Hello there! My name is Lhea Kathlyn Mae (yes that is my first name but I go by Lhea) Domondon. I am a fourth year at California State University, Bakersfield. I am majoring in biology. I enjoy leaning about life and how nature woks, from humans to plants to the smallest organisms.
Growing up my mind went to all sorts of directions. I wanted to be many things going up, from architect to fashion designer, you name it. I thought my path was set to becoming an engineer, more specifically in computer science. I am glad I switched to biology. With this, I am hoping to be a clinical lab scientist (CLS). This job is the perfect duo of lest schooling with more money and still being involved in the medical field.
I have participated in research opportunities, in the summers of 2019, 2022 and 2023. In the summer of 2019 (REVSUP), I worked with Dr. Saini in making carbon dioxide miscible with oil. This project required me to work with other high school students and increase our experience with designing and working with tools. This project also introduced us to a poster session with Chevron, professors, and parents. I continued doing research with Dr. Pratt and Dr. Jacobsen (SURE program) in 2022 and 2023 in dealing with vessels in leaves and trees. The image on the left is the poster that my group and I completed and showcased to the public.
