Hello, my name is Luis Sanchez, and I am a Sophomore at California State University of Los Angeles. I am a Civil Engineering major. The reason why I have chosen this major is because I have admired creating objects from scratch. I enjoy working with my creativity in creating eye-appealing structures.

I want to become a licensed Civil/Structural Engineer, hoping to work for the city or county. Once I have achieved that, I would love to become independent and acquire jobs.

I am a critical thinker with adequate problem-solving skills. I am a person who will perform each task to the best of my abilities to ensure that my peers and the company I am working with receive the best possible work.

I received the Dean's List for the Fall and Spring semester of my freshman year with a 4.0 GPA.

I have been able to fix a few items in my household. For example, when my friend crashed into my wall, I could drywall the hole, sand it down, and paint over it. Now, it looks like nothing ever happened. I could also replace a countertop in my household with a marble counter. I utilized brackets to stabilize the counter.

These two mini "projects" have taught me how to perform these specific tasks. These could be tasks that occur occasionally, which is why I deem it essential to learn.
