Hey guys! My Name is Lindsey Taysom, I am a UIUX design major at Utah Tech, and I am finishing my second year at school. My dream is to design and build houses with my husband Kaysen. I have experience in and I am very passionate about interior design, and he is very passionate about construction, excavation and homebuilding! I have skills in various forms of art and design and love all things that require creativity.

I am from St. George, Utah, and I love hiking, biking, tennis and pickle ball. I currently work for the state and national parks in the western region of the United States doing videography, graphic design, and UIUX design. I love my job, it offers a ton of variety and adventure, and I am really excited about where I am going with it. I am currently building a "ranger dashboard" (properly called park admin tools) website for park managers to be able to see all the data in their park in a very user friendly way, to help them manage their park more easily.

I also have helped with the development and implementation of a new point of sale system, and signage solutions with magnetic changeable numbers with seams that almost disappear once set into the sign. I have helped install starlink into parks with no internet access, and have brought customized merchandise to several parks.

I have always loved working with my hands and building things. I like making Jewelry, and working with leather when I have free time. I also like throwing pottery and painting with any medium.

I would say the most complex repair task I have undertaken was fixing my foggy gross headlights on my first car. My headlights were super cloudy and all the solutions I had found were just topical but that didn't help. I eventually just took out the whole headlight and disassembled it, and was able to clean the headlight from the inside out, which made a HUGE difference! My car looked brand new after that.

I graduated with honors in high school, voted most likely to succeed :)

I also won 1st at state in the FFA floriculture contest, and placed 4th at nationals as a competing individual in Interior Design.

I am excited to be part of this project, it looks like a lot of fun and I am excited to learn how to take apart things and provide replacement instructions. I deal with a lot of equipment for my job and I think learning this skill will be crucial to helping the parks know what to do if something breaks.

A fun fact about me, I am a TBI survivor, I had a bad accident riding a horse 9 years ago and it crushed the right side of my skull and caused bleeding in my brain. My life was changed dramatically, as I could not walk or do basic things for myself. Since then I have been determined to overcome all the things that have hindered me, and it has been a ton of work. Miraculously, I am back to normal. A few weeks ago I finally jumped over my last hurdle - Riding a horse again. I was able to ride up a mountain without having a panic attack, which was a huge deal for me!

Attached is a photo of my husband and I, we just got married last semester :)

And a photo of the park dashboard I am working on!
