Introduction

The plastic part on the top of the iPod.

Before opening your iPod, ensure that the hold switch is in the locked position.

Carefully insert an iPod opening tool in the seam between the metal casing and white plastic top.
Lift the top bezel off the iPod. It's glued on using a mild adhesive, so some force may be required.

But how do I install it on? Do I just push it back? I want to fix mine but it doesn't even have the top part anymore, or the hold switch

I would recommend that you put some new adhesive on there. All you have to do is put the switch in its place and put on a new top and push it down.
