Introduction

Use this guide to replace a faulty motherboard on your Vulcan Venture II (VNB14002IE) laptop. Your laptop may have a faulty motherboard if you experience frequent crashes, shutdowns, reboots or no power. Ensure your laptop is fully powered down before removing any part. If you're unsure that it's fully powered down, open and power the laptop and shut it down from the start menu.

    • Use a J00 screwdriver to unscrew the 10 back-plate screws.

    • Gently separate the back panel from the laptop.

    • Disconnect the 4 ribbon cables connected to the motherboard by carefully lifting up the black bar attached to the housing. Slowly slide the cable out once released.

    • Disconnect the wire connected to the motherboard.

    • Disconnect the battery by gently pulling out the cable connected to the board.

    • Remove the screws located in the corners of the board using a J00 screwdriver.

    • Gently lift the board out of the housing without any cables still connected to the board.
