Introduction

The optical drive is used to play and read the CDs that are entered. The CD Reader is one if not the most important pieces given it's used to read the CD to run the movie that is chosen.

    • Use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the five screws.

    • Use the Philips screwdriver to remove the screws located on the sides and the back.

    • Not shown are the right side screw and the middle screw.

    • Use a spudger to separate the case from the chassis.

    • Remove the case.

    • The Location of the three screws holding the CD reader in place.

    • Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove all three screws holding the CD reader in position.

    • Two screws not shown.

    • Disconnect all of the optical drive motherboard connections.

    • Lift the four retention clips holding the face of the DVD player in place.

    • Two clips are not shown, left and bottom right side clips.

    • Remove the front face of the DVD player by pulling it away from the device.

    • Remove the optical drive.
