Introduction

In this guide, we will be replacing the SIM card in the Samsung SGH-E317. SIM stands for Subscriber Identification Module. Basically, it tells the phone and the service provider the Identity of the phone. It gives basic information such as the phone number that is being used and the mobile provider that is servicing the phone. By changing the SIM card, you will be able to operate the phone under a new phone number or even under an entirely new mobile service provider! Follow the steps below, and you will have your new SIM card installed in no time!

Please keep in mind, that once a SIM card has been replaced, you may need to restart your phone in order to make it operate using the new SIM! Simply turn the phone off for a few minutes, and turn it back on again and the new SIM should be active!
