Introduction

Whether the vibrations on your phone are too weak for your liking or completely absent, you have good reason to want to repair your device rather than buying a new one for such a minor issue.

This tutorial is for anyone looking to replace the vibration module on their Samsung Galaxy A20e.

    • For obvious safety reasons, it is necessary to completely turn off your device before opening it.

    • Then, using your SIM eject tool inserted into the hole on the side of your phone, eject the SIM card tray and set everything aside.

    • Take a pick and slide it between the back cover of the phone and the screen.

    • Tip: It’s easier to insert the tool near the SIM card slot or at one of the phone’s corners to get started!

    • Slide the pick tool along the screen to unclip the entire back cover of the phone.

    • Caution: The fingerprint sensor may be attached to the back cover. Carefully pull on the sensor while preserving the connection ribbon to remove it.

    • Slide the spudger under the sensor’s connector and gently pry it up to disconnect the module.

    • Place the sensor in a safe location until you have completed repairing your device!

    • Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the 6 screws securing the plastic covers.

    • Lift these plastic covers (using a spudger) to remove them.

    • Just like the fingerprint sensor, store the covers in a safe place!

    • Using the nylon spudger, lift and disconnect the ribbon cables for the battery, screen, and charging connector.

    • This step is partly for safety to avoid any risk of a short circuit during the operation.

    • Similarly, disconnect the ribbon cables for the buttons (power and volume), the front camera, and the GSM interconnect cables (white) as well as the WiFi/Bluetooth cables (blue).

    • Since the front camera is completely detached from the rest of the phone, store it safely in a secure place to prevent any damage.

    • Gently lift the component to detach it from the rest of the device. You can then place it in a safe location.

    • Using a flathead screwdriver (as the spudger is too wide to fit), gently lift the vibrator module to remove it from the device.

    • Peel off the protective adhesive from your new module, and place it in the same position as the old one, on the designated spot at the bottom of the phone.

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow the instructions in reverse order.
