Hey Lindsay, I have a bulging battery for an out-of-warranty 2016 blade stealth. I noticed that the battery you extracted here is the 3950mAh/45wh model rated 11.4V, and model linked on Amazon is rated 11.55V / 4640mAh/53.6wh - can that cause a problem or did that work out well?

What kind of adhesive tape is on the battery that is holding it down.

Lindsay, I replaced the battery as per your guidance and it showed 20% charge at first and turned on without needing to be plugged in. SO I plugged it in to charge the battery which is now at 93% and holding. However, if I unplug the computer it automatically shuts off! Any ideas? I have tried most of the trouble shooting on the web with no luck. Thanks!

I am having the exact same problem. It worked as soon as I replaced the battery. I charged it over night and the battery does not work at all. The computer only turns on when it is plugged in.

I also encountered the same problem. I will try reattaching the connector, but I have to wait for a new torch bit as mine stripped putting the computer back together (for those reassembling, the T5 screws connecting the shell below the front are slightly angled).

Did anyone else who encountered this problem resolve it?

I never resolved this with my first replacement battery and since re-installing my original OEM battery resulted in normal function (as in, being able to run the laptop on battery power) I think the issue is with the replacement battery itself.

mine the battery was expanding and wouldn't turn on so I took the battery out and was able to get it to turn on but was super laggy so I ordered a battery and put it in and now it seems to be working just fine no problems at all now!

For the folks who were commenting above, I think that IFixit might have two slightly different batteries which fit the same form factor and have many of the same identifying markings. Like another commenter, I put in a 11.55V (Rated Voltage) 13.2V (Limited Charge) into my 2016 Razer Blade Stealth a year ago and it encountered problems very quickly. However, when I ordered the new battery from here, it was a 11.4V model and seems to be working much better. Unfortunately I think they might be mixing up the two in their warehouses, since the picture of the item I bought (IF431-001-2) indicates a 11.55V battery
