Introduction
This is a guide on how to descale an AGLUCKY HZB-12/H Countertop Ice Maker. Without regular cleaning, the ice machine will start to slow down and run inefficiently. Mineral build up will clog the machine and cause the sensors to stop working. This leads to the machine running with an empty reservoir and malfunctioning when trying to freeze ice.
Tools
-
-
Turn off the icemaker by pressing the power button.
-
Remove the ice from the machine using the provided scoop.
-
Either discard the ice into your sink or put it in a separate container to use later.
-
-
-
Either hold a container below the drain plug or place it over the edge of a sink.
-
Pull the plug quickly and let the machine fully drain.
-
-
-
Use a kitchen scale to measure your solution in fluid ounces.
-
Take your cleaning solution and pour about two ounces of solution into a container.
-
-
-
Add the solution to one half gallon of filtered or distilled water.
-
Mix the 2 ounces of solution into the water.
-
-
-
Pour the solution and water mixture into the machine reservoir.
-
Press and hold the power button for 3-5 seconds until the indicator lights flash red simultaneously to start the self-cleaning cycle.
-
-
-
As the self-cleaning cycle runs, use a toothbrush dipped in the cleaning mixture to remove any visible buildup in the machine.
-
-
-
Once the self-cleaning cycle is complete, drain the solution from the machine following the same procedure in Step 2.
-
-
-
Pour clean, filtered or distilled water (without cleaning solution) into the machine reservoir.
-
Run the self-cleaning cycle again by holding the power button for 3-5 seconds.
-
-
-
Once the self-cleaning cycle with fresh water is complete, drain the solution from the machine following the same procedure in Step 2.
-
-
-
Refill the machine reservoir with cool water and press the power button to run it as normal for clean ice.
-
We recommend repeating this descaling and cleaning process once every 2-6 months, depending on the hardness of water used in the machine.

Any information on diagnosing technical issues with the unit not making ice?
Hi there! It looks like the owner's manual has a short troubleshooting section: https://images.thdstatic.com/catalog/pdf...
If you don't find success there, I'd recommend posing the question in our Answers forum, with a bit more detail describing your exact issue: https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/Ask
We hope that helps!
