Introduction

This is a simple guide to replace your Google Pixel 7 Pro screen, in this guide the bad screen went blank after being dropped.

Parts

Step 1

The main tools you need are Tweezers, a plastic and or metal spudger, a pick, and a metal and or plastic razor blade.
You will also need a Heater to heat up the adhesive on the screen whether it be like the one in the photo, a heat gun, or one of ifixits personal ones they sell.
Sorry about the poor quality photos, I used my phone to take them and ifixit forces me to crop them even more.

Step 2

Make sure to turn the device off before heating up
Heat the device face down for about 3-5 minutes, if you’re using one similar to mine I have it set to 80, if you’re using a different way to heat your device please follow the instructions that came with it.

Step 3

After heating the device take the razor and carefully pry up the LCD enough to get the pick under it.
You can use either a plastic or metal razor as seen in step one.
You then can carefully go around the screen prying it open.
The screen does have a black under-border that helps attach it to the frame, if that does come apart and stays in the phone you can pry it off with ease. Shown in image three.

Step 4

When the screen is finally open you’ll see the connecter with a plate over it, pry up the little metal square enough to insert your tweezer through the tiny hole, you will then be able to easily pull up and remove the metal bracket holding down the connector, use the Plastic spudger to disconnect the cable.

Step 5

Now that the screen is off you’ll use the plastic or metal spudger to remove the old adhesive, after that you can apply the new adhesive.

Step 6

Grab your new screen and connect it to the phone, you can now put the metal bracket back over it and bend the square part back down.
After connecting it make sure to align and press the screen down, if you have a phone press or some soft weights you can use that as well if you want.

Step 7

If using an OEM part or a part that comes with the fingerprint reader you'll have to calibrate/reprogram it and then restart the phone.
If you're using a third-party screen that doesn't have the fingerprint reader you're able to transfer it like iPhones but you have to be really careful with it just like them as well.

I am wondering if this will reset the fingerprint reader as it is integral part of the screen.

Yes, if using an OEM part or a part that comes with the fingerprint reader you'll have to calibrate/reprogram it and then restart the phone. If you're using a third-party screen that doesn't have the fingerprint reader you're able to transfer it like iPhones but you have to be really careful with it just like them as well.

Is water resistance preserved after this please?

As long as you replace the old adhesive with a new one you should fine, using the old one works but it won't be as good water resistance wise.
