Introduction

The on-off switch on my Escali P115C kitchen scale started to get twitchy. Sometimes it would not turn on at all. Other times it would turn on but the tare function would not work. Time to replace the switch!

    • The first step to accessing the innards of this scale is to remove the top platen. The platen has four hooks on the bottom that attach it to the piece underneath. Rotating the platen counterclockwise about five degrees should detach the platen except that in addition to the hooks, the platen is glued to the piece below.

    • Flip the scale over and remove the battery cover and batteries. Remove the seven screws. A JIS #2 screwdriver works best.

    • Flip the scale back over and lift the top deck off to expose the electronics.

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
