Introduction

This guide will show you how to replace the motor in your Dyson Supersonic HD01. The motor on your hairdryer may need to be replaced if it has taken damage, and other options to fix your hairdryer have not proven successful.

  • Caution: when working with switches and other fragile components, make sure to be gentle and not forceful in removing and inserting parts and electronics.
  • Reminder: Upon reassembling, a new adhesive will have to be reapplied for the buttons to be replaced onto the dryer.

If you are just removing the motor, there is no need to remove these screws. This applies to the UK market only but I'm sure these are the same for other countries too.

Maybe you can help fix the problem? My Dyson Supersonic won't heat up, the company says replace it with 20% discount. But it is only a 3 year old with guarantee expired by 3 months. Is there a chance to fix expensive item? Thanks.

I had a similar experience with a Karcher hand held floor washer. They said: send the silver label via mail and will replace it, but don't send item toss it. This is outrageous that these machines go in the landfill without foreign companies taking charge and try and fix them first. Happened twice, actually. Now Dyson?

I buy and repair the Dyson range of hairdryers and these are quite straightforward to repair and generally it's the same problem, either the filter(s) is blocked or the motor itself is faulty.

I have a HD01 that do not start, it flashes white LEDs, I hear a sort of sibyl of the motor when I try to run it but at the end it do not starts. Cleaning the filter did not help... Is this a faulty motor? Where to find good replacement ones? Thanks for helping me

Have you got a link for the correct motor to replace the HD01?
