Introduction
This guide shows you how to take off the lens mount assembly, which includes the back cover, lens mount, rubber weather seal, focus adjustment ring, and mount washer. This allows you to replace any of the listed parts as needed, including the rubber weather seal which can deteriorate over time. Attached to this guide is the parts catalog for this lens, which contains all the part numbers.
Replacement Parts
The washer mount and focus adjustment rings comes in different thicknesses. If you are replacing either of those parts, you will need to check what thickness your part is to ensure you purchase the correct part. This is important so that the lens remains in proper focus.
Washer Mount:
The washer mount comes in two different sizes (and your lens may contain more than one). The washer mount will come in either 0.02 mm or 0.05 mm and the part numbers are CY1-2178-000(002) and CY1-2178-000(005) respectively. Use a caliper to measure the thickness of the washer mount(s) in your lens.
Focus Adjustment Ring:
The focus adjustment ring comes in 0.1 mm increments between 1.6 mm and 2.2 mm. Check page 1 of the parts catalog for the diagram showing which part of the focus adjustment ring to measure to get the thickness. The part number for the focus adjustment ring is CY1-2996-000(XXX) where XXX is replaced with the size number located next to the thickness on the chart. So a thickness of 1.9 mm would have a part number of CY1-2996-000(190).

Remove the two 3mm JIS #00 screws on the side of the lens mount.

Remove the four 8mm JIS #00 screws holding in the metal lens mount.

Gently lift up the side opposite of the contact assembly.

Slide your finger (or plastic spudger tool) under the lens mount and pop off the back plastic cover off of the lens.

Pull the lens mount assembly up and away from the lens.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
