Introduction

You really need your coffee but the coffey machine will not start, and after a while shows Err 11 in the display. You might need some new parts or it is just the thermo fuse that needs a physical reset.

Let us investigate this easy option before you have to call support and have them bring in a service technician that in my case told us we needed a new machine. Low on caffeine we did ...

    • Pull out the power cord before opening up anything. Double check that correct powercord is disconnected! This procedure is not possible without getting close or even touching the power mains connectors inside.

    • If you can't get access to the back panel without disconnecting the water hose, ensure that water is disconncted before taking off the water hose. It's bad to not having coffee, but having your kitchen area hosed down in water does not help.

    • Remove the two T15 torx as shown in the picture. A flat head 4 bit can also be used.

    • Pull the back panel out from the bottom. Some force might be needed. Set panel aside.

    • Did you remember to pull out the power lead ?

    • Locate the metal cylinder inside. This is the heating core. The thermo fuse and reset button is located on top behind the power leades. Did you really disconnect power ?

    • Reach in from the left side behind the power leads and push lightly on the little button marked with red in picture 2. You will feel a little snap and a little movement if it resets.

    • If nothing happens, then your problem lies elsewhere. I am really sorry.

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
