Background

The Whill Fi Folding Power Wheelchair is a combination of folding power wheelchair and lightweight electric wheelchair. It is intended to provide seniors and people with limited mobility an independent and easy way to travel wherever they go. The Whill Model Fi won a Best of Innovation award at CES (Consumer Electronic Show) and was released in 2022 at a retail price of $2,899 [1].

According to Whill’s official website, the Model Fi was classified as discontinued and is now referred to as Model F. The Model F/Fi was released after Model C2 or Model C series not to replace the previous models, but each serves a specific purpose. The Model C2 is recommended for everyday wheelchair users while F/Fi specifically targeted at people with some mobility, as its lightweight and foldable design makes it easier to load, store, and travel with it.

Identification

The Whill Fi Powerchair has a futuristic design that is slim enough to fit into narrow spaces, measuring about 21.9 inches in width. The width between the armrests can be adjusted to either 16 or 28 inches. It’s lightweight, foldable, and can be driven and locked using a smartphone app. The wheelchair is entirely black, except for the struts on both sides which are in a different color. It has five color options: white, black, light green, red, and light blue. In addition, inside the battery frame, there is a primary identification and manufacturer label. The primary label shows the serial number and UDI (Unique Device Identifier), along with an indication of the model of the device, while the manufacturer label indicates the manufacturer’s name and address.
