Background

The Samsung Q330 is a 13.3” laptop, known more commonly as the Series 2 Notebook. The laptop was released in 2010, selling at around $760 (or £600). At the time of its release, the laptop was slim, light, and powerful compared to other laptops making it easy to carry and perfect for suitcases. Thus, due to its ultra-portability and long-lasting battery life, the target demographic was largely frequent travelers or those who need a good computer on the go.

The laptop has a 13.3” display screen and weighs about 4.32 pounds. It contains a webcam, speaker, microphone jack, and headphone jack. The touchpad is slightly larger than prior models, and the keypad is waterproof with larger spacing between the keys to allow for more comfortable typing. There are 3 USB ports, one being a sleep-and-charge port (which allows for charging even when the laptop is turned off), an HDMI port, and a multi-card slot (suited for SD, SDHC, and MMC cards).

While similar in size and shape to many other computers at the time, the unique display screen makes it easy to differentiate between the different models of the Samsung Notebook Series. Its most notable features are its speed, power, and relatively affordable price point. There are no known failure modes or manufacturer recalls nor are there particular components that tend to fail or malfunction more often than others.

Following its release in 2010, Samsung released different versions of it, stopping at the Series 9 Notebook in March 2012. Since then, Samsung has released multiple different versions of laptops, the most recent being the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro laptop. The newer versions come with newer features and the ability to flip and act as a tablet, making it slightly more versatile.
