Background

Originally released in 2010 the ResMed S9 AutoSet was said to had made improvements from the S8 predecessor series on their new algorithm which scored hypopneas less aggressively, and was also given a was to detect clear airway apneas. From the upgrade of the S8 to the S9 there was new quality of life features added which include: heated tubing, Rainout control, and SmartStart software for full face mask.

Originally the ResMed S9 AutoSet was sold for $525.00 though due to this machine being discontinued in 2016 the only way to acquire them now is by salvaging pre-owned devices. Now most listing for this line of device could be found around $600-$700. One of the most common problems among consumers of ResMed were that the batteries were the biggest area of concern with these devices. Though these aren't hard to fix problems since the battery unit for the S9 was both backwards-compatible and forwards-compatible for multiple devices to come.
