Background

The Microsoft Band is a smartwatch/fitness band, released October 29th, 2014. It comes in soft gray wrap-around-the-wrist plastic, with an adjustable clasp. There are three sizes available: small, medium, and large. Key features include a microphone, a UV sensor, an optical heart rate sensor, GPS, a touchscreen, Bluetooth, and power and action buttons.

The Band is compatible with iPhone, Android, and Windows Phone to monitor activity and sleep, as well as give notifications for texts, emails, and numerous apps. When used with a Windows Phone, the Band's microphone can be used to interact with Cortana, Microsoft's virtual personal assistant.

Identification

The model number is 1619 and is written in fine print next to the two hooks that clamp the band shut, or written on the bottom of the original packaging.
