Background Information
Initially released on November 3, 2003, Fedora Linux is a free and open source distribution designed as a contribution of the Red Hat Linux project. Since its release Fedora has become one of the most popular Linux distributions with an estimated 1.2 million users as of 2016, including Linux creator Linus Torvalds, and has become the upstream source for CentOS Stream and the enterprise edition of Red Hat Linux.
