Background

Between the years 1993 to 1999, the Dräger Narkomed 2C was produced. The Narkomed 1 was first introduced in 1972, engineered by Peter J. Schreiber. Newer models followed, bringing us the manufacturing of the Dräger Narkomed 2C.

The Dräger Narkomed 2C is an anesthesia system with continuous flow. It allows for delivering gases and anesthetic vapor in a mixture.  The device has numerous components. The major features include a sphygmomanometer to monitor blood pressure, an electronic ventilator, a backup battery, an oxygen ratio controller, and a double-canister absorber. It also can deliver liquid anesthetics from vaporizers. Cylinders and pipelines allow for gas supply. It allows for both air and carbon dioxide delivery optionally. However, all Dräger Narkomed 2C machines are equipped with nitrous oxide and oxygen.

Featuring a mounted screen monitor. The Dräger Narkomed 2C consists of a single monitor that collects and displays breathing pressure, respiratory volume information, and oxygen concentration. It was available in a ceiling-mounted version as well which allowed for accessibility.
